The Corporation has undertaken the following new activities:

A. Beach Sand Project:

IDCOL signed a JV agreement with Indian Rare Earths Ltd.(IREL) on 29.11.2017 for development of Beach Sand Project and a JV Company in the name and style of “ IREL IDCOL LTD.” has been incorporated on 18.01.2018 by IREL & IDCOL in the share holding ratio of 51:49 respectively to do beach sand Mining. Application has been made by the JV company to the State Govt. for reservation of Beach Sand area along Puri Coast. Preparation of DPR is under process . Further area is being explored to make application for lease.

B. Merchant Mining:

Initiative has been taken by the Corporation to undertake merchant mining activities after allotment of few mines under reservation route so that the Corporation can cater to the need of the Industry both inside and outside the State. Govt. has been requested to allot few mines.
This proposal is under consideration of the Government.

C. Technology Development:

The Corporation has initiated steps for undertaking modification of equipment at its Ferro chrome plant to improve efficiency of production and also reduce cost. Tendering process for some equipment has already started.

D. Slag Separation Plant:

IDCOL has successfully separated metal value from slag in its Ferro Chrome  Plant  at Jajpur Road, thus generating good revenue.

Second Jigging plant has been installed to separate metal value from Old Slag.
